My mother signed me up for dance lessons at ReNance when I was three years old. Mostly because I needed an activity, and I had a friend that was already involved. At first it was hard to leave my mom and I actually refused to do anything for a little while, but soon I saw how much fun everyone was having, and I had to join in. I ended up staying until I was 18 years old; and I wouldn’t trade that time for anything.
Being involved with ReNance has taught me so much. It taught me grace, poise, and the confidence to perform in front of people. It also taught me how to get along with all different types of people, and how to work as a team. I would recommend ReNance to anyone looking for a studio to dance at (and even those who aren’t!) because of what it can teach you, and what it stands for. Never in my 15 years dancing at ReNance was I put in a costume that made me feel embarrassed, or asked to dance to a song that I thought was derogatory. That is one of things I love most about ReNance; it is wholesome while still fun. I have so many memories from my time dancing. When I think about my happy childhood, I always also think of ReNance, because it was so much fun for me the entire time. I grew to love ReNae, and my classmates, and it was a sad day when I had to dance my way off stage at my last recital. I can’t dance myself at this time, but I am just counting the days until I graduate from college, and I can put myself back in dance, in ReNance’s alumni dance class.
I hope that anyone who wants to put their child in dance seriously considers ReNance. It is one of the best choices out there. I know that I hope, someday, I have children that want to dance; because if I have anything to say about it they will be dancing at ReNance for a long time!
